We were delighted to be back in the Scottish Parliament recently supporting one of our clients with an exhibition stand. Exhibition stands and other MSP-sponsored events in Holyrood are a great way to engage directly with MSPs and parliamentary staff from all political parties.
They provide your charity, organisation or company with the opportunity to raise awareness of your work and discuss key issues.
The exhibition stand was hosted by GoFibre, Scotland’s independent builder and provider of full fibre broadband, and was sponsored by Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire MSP Rachael Hamilton.
GoFibre’s mission is to bring fast, reliable broadband to underserved communities throughout Scotland, and bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas, and the team at GoFibre was keen to engage directly with MSPs and update them on the exciting and crucial work being carried out across Scotland.
The day started when we arrived at parliament, where we were met by a member of the fantastic Scottish Parliament events team.
The exhibition stand was situated in the Garden Lobby area of parliament, providing the opportunity to meet with MSPs as they made their way to and from the chamber across three days.
We provided documents on GoFibre including parliamentary newsletters and information briefings.
We also wanted to provide an engaging and interactive experience, so we brought with us a giant Connect 4 game which caught the eye of MSPs and parliamentary staffers.
The Connect 4 gave them the opportunity to test their speed skills and challenge members of the GoFibre team to a game.
Organising an event in parliament involves a lot of planning, from engaging with and securing an MSP to sponsor it, submitting your booking request, sending invites, producing materials, attending on the day(s), and managing the event.
But the opportunity to have direct face-to-face engagement with MSPs and promote the great work that your organisation or company is doing, and the chance to build positive relationships with MSPs and others, makes it more than worthwhile.
The Quantum team has extensive experience in events management and logistics, including delivering parliamentary events and receptions, organising political visits, conference exhibitions and fringe events, and national conferences.
If you or your organisation would like to find out more about the ways in which you can engage with elected representatives across the political spectrum, we would love to hear from you.
