Since it’s a bit quieter during the Easter break, I thought I’d tell you a bit more about the team at Quantum.
It happens to be National Pet Day which seems a fitting time to reveal that behind the ex-political editors and government director of comms, we are a team catering to the whims of a variety of pets. Mainly cats, but some dogs, lockdown chickens, rabbits and don’t ask about the bearded dragon.
We’ve worked for Cats Protection, supporting them to hold a parliamentary event at Holyrood. It helped that the team have quite a few cats – Ziggy, Gizmo, Frasier & Niles and Nancy Kitford.
I personally feel that dogs are clearly the superior pet. They’re loyal, affectionate and maybe not as intelligent as cats, but always a joy. My dog, Nero, a black lab, is a real character, he forces me out on walks when my head is swimming – getting outdoors with him often helps me clear my mind and think through issues. Also pictured below is Brodie (training to be a make up artist), he’s a pet that one of the team regularly cares for.
I’ll end on the chickens. I got them in lockdown and they are an absolute pleasure to have around, all characters within themselves but busily laying eggs. I won’t mention the cockerel as his MO is to attack first and ask questions later, but the children love him. This is Fluffy, a Buff Orpington.
Alan will be despairing about this post (he’s on holiday this week) but for all your public affairs, media, strategic counsel and broader comms needs, you’ll know where to find us (out with the dog).
